The 2016 Land Rover Discovery is a mid-size SUV that will release in the upcoming year much to the joy of car enthusiasts all over the world. Since it first arrived on the market in 1989, there has been four generations that have all been sold out in varying degrees of success. 2016 Land Rover Discovery – Exterior and Interior
The exterior 2016 Land Rover Discovery has been modified to eliminate sharp edges and replace it with rounded off features to lend some much-required elegance. It will be based on a new platform and will have reduced weight due to excessive usage of aluminum in the car’s body structure. On the car’s front end, there will be a revised bumper, a small grille, and headlights incorporated with HID and LED daytime running lights. The tail lights have been redesigned to resemble the headlights. The rear bumper has two exhaust tips placed underneath it. This car will have 5 different choices of wheel types and 9 attractive body colors. 2016 Land Rover Discovery will have a spacious new interior with three rows of seats that can comfortably accommodate 7 passengers, and maybe even squeeze in an 8th passenger. The second-row seat can be folded to make room for added cargo space if the need arises. The comfort factor of this model has been multiplied by furnishing it with leather wrapped seats and soft to touch materials on other interior detailing. The center console features an 8-inch touchscreen display from where you can control a myriad of safety and entertainment tools. Some of those features are very basic and can be found in almost every other model. Features like Satellite navigation, internet radio, panoramic sunroof; rear parking sensors makes this model stand out from the crowd.
2016 Land Rover Discovery – Powertrain
We found out that this car will have a gasoline based 2-liter Inline-4 engine that can generate a horsepower of up to 240 and 255 lb-ft of torque. This is the same engine that is featured in the all new Evoque. It has an acceleration rate of 0 to 60 mph in just 7.2 seconds reaching a maximum speed of 125 mph. ZF automatic gearbox will transfer to all four wheels. The Hybrid version of 2016 Land Rover Discovery will feature 2 liters Ingenium engine. Fuel economy rates have not been recorded yet, but we are expecting to hear some news soon.
2016 Land Rover Discovery – Release Date and Price
In Paris auto show, rumors floated that the base version of 2016 Land Rover Discovery will have a starting price of around $37,500. Naturally, the price would increase according to the specifications and trim level you are opting for. This car is will be available on sale in the early part of 2016 with the hybrid version going on sale sometime later.
