The 2018 Audi Q2 was unveiled during this year’s Geneva International Auto show in Switzerland. It is actually the smallest SUV in the manufacturer’s car lineup. 2018 Audi Q2 – Build on (MQB) Architecture
The design of 2018 Audi Q2 is based on the Modularer Querbaukasten (MQB) architecture, which it shares with the Volkswagen group. It rides on aluminum alloy wheels, ranging from 16-inches and 19-inches as well as 2-tone contrasting roof.
The interior cabin also looks fabulous with new technological features. The materials inside are of high quality, including fine leather upholstery on the seats and soft-to-touch plastics on the dashboard and other parts of the cabin. Other parts adopt brushed aluminum which is well-crafted improving the aesthetic feeling of the 2018 Audi Q2. Coming standard is a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen positioned on top of the dashboard. The touchscreen provides an interface with links to the 3-zone automatic climate control, premium air conditioner, satellite navigation system, smartphone integration with CarPlay/Android Auto, Wi-Fi connectivity feature and others. Entertainment is provided by an updated sound system with USB port interface, HD satellite radio, Bluetooth audio connectivity and CD/MP3/MP4 player. Safety and driver assistance equipment include lane-departure warning system, blind-spot warning system, automatic emergency braking system, adaptive cruise control, and others.
2018 Audi Q2 – Turbocharged Engine
The 2018 Audi Q2 packs a 1.0-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder gasoline engine as the base unit. This is rated to produce up to 114 horsepower and is likely to be offered with a standard wheel drive on the upper trims. This manufacturer will also offer a 1.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with cylinder-deactivation technology. The top of the line engine is an all-new 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine which will be exclusively connected to an all-wheel drive configuration. It will be mated to a standard 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission system.
2018 Audi Q2 – Expected Price and Release Date
The forthcoming 2018 Audi Q2 should be offered at around $30,000 as the base price. The German automaker is yet to comment on the official MSRP and release date. However, consumers should expect it to hit roads by the end of this year or at the start of next year.
