Slowly but surely, the SUVs are taking over the automotive world and that is now more than obvious with Peugeot and its latest offering – the 2018 Peugeot 3008. The first 3008 model was met with high praise and was lauded for its ruggedness, performance and style. The newest model aims to keep all of that and add a number of subtle, yet important changes and features.
2018 Peugeot 3008 – Exterior Visuals and Design
This new crossover SUV is notably larger and bulkier than the previous models. It is no longer a quirky and small high-riding hatch, but a full-fledged mid-sized SUV. Aside from the increased size, the manufacturer also decided to substantially enhance the design of the 3008. Its overall appearance and feel are much more futuristic and sleek, thanks to a large number of elegant touches and smooth but striking lines. A wide, concave-looking grille dominates the front of the 3008, along with a revamped but still familiar 2-piece headlight design.
The front bumper sports a massive air dam, with chrome-trimmed fog light completing the look. In the rear, the Peugeot has opted for a more blocky design that still manages to complete the generally sleek look of the entire vehicle.
The 2018 Peugeot 3008 has quite enough space for 5 passengers and a bevy of storage options. To ensure the comfort, the interior offers plenty of headroom and legroom, as well as high-quality upholstery and comfortable seats. The seats themselves are covered in leather and fully adjustable, as well.
However, since this is, after all, a rugged SUV, the majority of the surfaces will be covered in gray plastic, albeit quite durable and good looking. When it comes to the cabin, it will be the first one that is based on the Peugeot’s new layout, called the i – Cockpit, which features a specific open-cut design. The customers, who are interested in tech options, will appreciate an 8-inch touch screen display, blind spot monitoring, wireless phone charge, a panoramic sunroof and an adaptive cruise control.
2018 Peugeot 3008 – Engine Variants
The upcoming 2018 Peugeot 3008 will feature four main engine variants. Two of them will be petrol variants; a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder and a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine, while the other two are the 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter 4-cylinder diesel variants. The basic petrol variant will produce 120 hp. It will come with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The 1.6-liter petrol will output 165 hp, along with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Moving over to the diesel engines, the 1.6-liter, and the 2.0-liter will both come in two variants. The two 1.6-liter variants will produce 100 hp and 120 hp, respectively, while the 2.0-liter ones will offer 150 hp and 180 hp.
