With the announcement of the 2018 Porsche Cayenne, the German automotive company plans to, once again, play a major role in the crossover SUV market. The Cayenne series has always been regarded as one of the best in terms of performance and luxury and the new model seems to offer nothing less. Even though the vehicle is still not officially revealed, some info and spy photos have come to light. According to them, the latest Cayenne will feature a revamped look, along with some performance and stylistic changes.
2018 Porsche Cayenne – Exterior and Design
In general, the upcoming 2018 Porsche Cayenne is more of an overhaul, than a brand new model generation. The German manufacturer has decided not to change the formula too much. The Cayenne is still considered as one the most attractive and aesthetically pleasing SUVs on the market. What it needed was just a small number of subtle updates that would modernize the look. However, the Cayenne has gone through one massive change, and that is the reduction of its weight. Thanks to the new underpinnings, the vehicle will shed more than 350 pounds of weight. This will most certainly improve the performance and fuel economy of the SUV. Other visual and design changes include a more sloped roofline, a wider wheelbase and a new generation of tail light.
The 2018 Porsche Cayenne features a very quiet cabin. This cabin is equipped with well-designed, leather-covered seats that offer maximum support and flexibility. The overall layout of the cabin is well insulated and intuitive. Headroom and legroom are abundant, as well as hip and shoulder room. To add to the luxurious feel, the Porsche has opted to use exclusively high-quality plastic and leather, along with chrome and metal touches. For the infotainment purposes, the new Cayenne will feature only the latest equipment and gadgets.
The center stage is dominated by a brand – new infotainment suite, first introduced in the 2017 911 model. It consists of a 7-inch touch-screen display, along with a voice activation and state-of-the-art navigation.
